Ricky Trione presents his inspirational story, of overcoming blindness to students of all ages and all walks of life. He demonstrates how he has learned to draw and paint by feel, using textured paints. Ricky encourages everyone to focus on abilities and not disabilities. His hope is to inspire and motivate people to overcome the fear of failure or of making mistakes and strive to view life as a daring adventure.
Ricky loves to give presentations to schools, service organizations, businesses, churches, etc.
I was recently part of the Kennedy Center’s On Location: Spotlight on Your Community. A group of Foley Middle School students were selected to be a part of this program which is designed to allow students the opportunity to tell the story of the arts in their community. Foley Middle School received a media equipment package, and both students and teachers were trained in storytelling, filmmaking, editing, and producing video stories. I was selected to be the subject of this wonderful program. Check out WEAR ABC 3’s video about On Location.
The Eastern Shore Art Center recently published A Painter’s Paradise–a coffee table book that features the work of many Eastern Shore Artists. The book includes three of my paintings as well as forwards by Alabama natives Fannie Flagg and Winston Groom. The painting entitled Eastern Shore Jubilee was a collaborative effort between Vicky Cook and myself.
